The Three Billy Goats Gruff was studied this week at Junior Kindergarten. The children listened to different versions of the story, used stuffies to act it out, created a craft used to retell the story and enjoyed a shadow puppet performance.
After listening to the story, one student exclaimed, "I don't think the troll is a bully. He just does not know how to make friends. Maybe they should all play tag."
Inspired by this comment, we will revisit and reflect on the stories of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The JK children will help the characters problem solve with the purpose of facilitating friendships, thus creating new endings to these old tales.
