We have been performing the story of "The Three Little Pigs" in our child-built theatre! We've built a stage and added a stage light! To begin three pigs get into their homes. There is one of straw, one of sticks, and one of bricks. Then the big bad wolf comes knocking!!!
"Little pig, little pig, let me come in!"
To which the pig answers, "Not by the hairs on my chinny chin chin."
The wolf then responds, "I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house down."
The wolf does blow down the straw house, and the stick house, till in the end the three little pigs are all inside the brick house.
When the wolf is unable to blow it down, it pretends to climb up onto the roof and slide down the chimney. Unfortunately for the wolf, there is a pot of boiling water on the fire at the base of the chimney (we use our imaginations for that). The burned tail has the wolf bound back up the chimney, never to return again.
The End.
Miles has noticed his shadow on the wall when performing as the pig in the stick house. As a result, our shadow puppet theatre will replace our stage. It's always fun to see how the children retell the story with puppets.
