Thank you Sara and Delaney for photographing the events of our first Celebration of Learning. Without your photos, we would not have this wonderful documentation of the children being teachers and showing their special and trusted adults a few activities at Junior Kindergarten. Bravo, children, for a job well done!!
During the months of September and October we create a positive learning community with predictable routines, clear responsibilities, and friendly gestures (smiles/waves). Together we learn each others' names and begin to share our ideas and interests. During the November Celebration of Learning the children step into the role of teacher and lead their visiting adult/s through six activities, one of which is visiting a teacher to set a personal goal. The other activities included: sharing the work we did on the body inquiry, writing in a journal, sharing their binder and a favourite story, looking at an alphabet bag or two, and participating in Frieda's music activities.
