This week we celebrated friendship by having a Friendship Party. We all wore our PJs and brought a blanket to school. During circle time we brainstormed what can be done to ensure school is safe, friendly, and respectful. Then we passed around a discussion ball. The person who held the ball shared with the group one way s/he could be a good friend at school. Jenn recorded the children's answers. Since we are studying the letter Qq this week, we thought we could make a paper Friendship Quilt. Each person had a rectangular square on which they placed a painted hand print. Then Jenn transferred their "I can statement" onto the square. All the rectangles were then placed together to create a quilt!
To conclude our Friendship Party, we turned off the room lights, turned on our special party lights, snuggled with our blankets, and listened to the CD story of "The Napping House."
