100 is a big number that has three numbers within it 1-0-0! We counted each day of JK using sticks; we had one container for the ones and another for the tens. When we counted from 99 to 100 we needed "another container!" These counting experiences help build a foundation of experience which help children understand place value.
On the 100th day of JK each child created 100 glasses and helped to house 100 teddy bears in a make-shift house! The bears were delivered in baskets 10 at a time, thus counting by tens: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 ,90 ,100! Boy, was the teddy house full!
