How exciting to share family favorite stories with JK classmates! The afternoon class enjoyed an expressive reading of two very funny books: Dragons Love Tacos and The Day the Crayons Came Home! Thank you Nicola!! You were a hit!
Dr. Lynn McGarvey shared not only stories, but a song too, when visiting as a Guest Reader!! The song, "Fifteen Animals," in Sandra Boynton's book "Philadelphia Chickens" counts the fifteen animals that she's got all named Bob, except the turtle named Simon James Alexander Ragsdale III. We sure enjoyed listening to the song, and are happy to borrow the CD book set!
Dr. McGarvey also read the "THANKFUL Book." One that recounts the many reasons to be thankful each and every day. Inspired by this book, we've placed our collection of Todd Park books out for the children to read.
Dr. Lynn McGarvey, we are always delighted to connect with you, whether it is to do research, professional development or sharing favorite stories!! You are an amazing asset to the Department of Education!

A few young visitors were excited to participate in a day at JK during their school's break for Teachers' Convention. They returned home disapppointed that they would not visit again this year AND exhausted!
After an introductory week of meeting our CSC community, our Grant MacEwan student created a forest in our dramatic play area. Wow, super job!! Good luck with your studies! We look forward to your return in mid March!
