The important thing about a kissing hand is it carries love
When you give a kissing hand, you share love
A kissing hand is for another (person)
It is meant to love your family
Your mom and dad carry your love
When you are scared you bring your mom and dad's love - you bring your mom and dad's love everywhere
You carry their love inside your body
The important thing about a kissing hand is it carries love
Our craft this week was inspired by the book "The Kissing Hand." We thought our families might be missing the campanionship and love of their children, thus we created a kissing hand to share with them. We also crafted a poem like the ones in "The Important Book." The poem above combines the thoughts of the children in the morning and afternoon classes. Each line is a child's statement, and together they beautifully descibe the children's understanding of a kissing hand.
The children's craft is posted below the slide show and shows the amazing variety of ideas represented by the children. They all had access to coloured hearts and four colours of paint: blue, pink, yellow, and green. A few children choose to trace, not paint, their hands.
Below the slide show the kissing hands are posted starting with the morning class and leading into the afternoon class. The names are posted in alphabetical order.
