This week we continued conversations about feelings. We read literature (pictured below) and used our visual chart to represent how the feelings of different characters changed throughout the story. In addition, the children were asked to look at a photo, taken during JK, and recall the specific event, and state how they were feeling and why (a few examples are listed below). This documentation added a personal dimension to our bulletin board, and will continue into next week. Next week we will also try to build empathy by viewing generic scenario cards (pictured below). We will consider how others may feel in that specific situation, and brianstorm how we might provide assistance or comfort.
When convenient, please come in and read the bulletin board located above the block centre. Some of the documentation is quite surprising! The children's memories and ablity to articulate their feelings is extraordinary!
